Leader – Studio Mittens

Enkele jaren werkte ik als freelance animator en illustrator onder de naam Studio Mittens. When I created a new visual identity for my website and social channels, I designed the image of a floating tree. A tree that wants to move and settle somewhere else, but is always held back by a heavy chain.

The idea originally came from an animation film concept for which I wrote the script, but which was unfortunately never produced. And although I’d love to say it had some deep or personal meaning, it was mostly just a strong visual idea. The composition felt right, the typography worked well, and the whole image simply made sense to me.

Omdat ik naast illustrator ook als animator werkte, kon een bewegende versie natuurlijk niet ontbreken! Met speciale dank aan Anthony Dunstan voor de geweldige muziekcompositie bij de leader, hij gaf het geheel precies de sfeer die ik zocht.
